 Thanks Falkryn, Robert, Chorlton for your helpful suggestions.  And my overseas cousin  would say thank you that I am no longer phoning them when they are tucked up in bed asleep.

  Hi Charlotte,

                      What I do is to double left click on the time on your toolbar.

    ( Where you alter the time/date etc on your computer) Date and Time properties

      will appear. Click on the time zone TAB.  A map will appear. Left click on the " V"

      at the sde of the line that says Greenwich Mean Time. A list of all the time zones will appear

     with the +/-  hours that you need to adjust  our time to theirs. Scroll up and down to pick

      the nearest time zone to the location you are phoning.   This is on Windows XP but should

     work on other operating systems.

       P.S. and while you are at it, correct your computer clock....   it's wrong ;D ;D ;D ;D

Thank you for the step by step explanation which is needed for me- and I haven't corrected my clock yet.. sorry about that.  Will get to it after looking at rootschat..
