I have some HARLAND's from North Yorkshire. :) Mine were (are) from Guisborough. I haven't done very much about this branch as they are a bit of a sideline for me. The link is that my Mum's sister is married to a Harland.

I have Harland in my family. The most recent ones are in Hartlepool, but before 1830 they are in Bridlington.

I would be gratefull for any info on the Bridlington ones.

Hi Glenys

Not strictly MY tree, but I have some 'splinter' Pashbys that I can't fit into mine. However, there is a William Harland who married Ellis (Alice) Pashby in Levisham on 13th July 1800, which is much closer to Middleton than any of the other responses that you've had.

Other information is as follows ...

1800 13th July, marriage of Ellis Pashby & Wm Harland (born of this parish - Levisham) (Banns having been read)
This wedding is recorded in the Levisham Parish Registers, although strangely the witnesses do NOT include any Pashbys; they were Luke Williamson, Moses Watson and Ann Harland.

Ellis died in 1822, viz ...
Erected to the memory of JOHN PAHBY who departed this life Mar[  ] aged [ ] also [ ]ILL wife of William HARLAND and sister of the above who departed this life February 17th 1822 aged 48 years + 1 line of verse illegible
Parish Records show burial as follows ...
1822 Feb 19 Ellis Harland, wife of William, Levisham, 46

MT ;)
Researching ...
PASHBY in Scarborough, Levisham, and outlying area
SEDMAN in Scarborough, Scalby, Everley and Hackness
BIRD in Easington, Patrington, Sculcoates and Hull
DOBSON in Edinburgh, Wakefield, York and Scarborough
SUTTON in Wintringham and Scarborough
ROSS in Edinburgh and outlying districts
