Dear Sybil

I am sat here thinking about you as I know its nearly time for you to say goodbye.    I  so wish I could have been there today but I will be with you in spirit.   Its not goodbye to Alan because he will always be there with you sat on your shoulder telling you how todo things.     Everytime I see a red rose I will think of Alan he dished them out to the ladies quite often.

He only had eyes for you though and I could see that when I met you both at the wedding celebration.

So on this very sad day I give you hugs and kisses and hope that you get through it all.    All things bright and beautiful that was Alan.

 :'( :'(  but also  ;D ;D

Sybil and families,
Here I sit at exactly midnight Wednesday Aussie time too washed out to work out the exact time on top of the world.

However I know that I wont be far out in reckoning.  As I write this I see warped type through tears both of sadness and of joy for you and your families.

Sadness at the loss of a husband , lover, friend, confidante and all-time best mate.  He was one of the warmest people ever to welcome me to a chat conversation.

Joy at the privilege of celebrating one small part of Alan's life with you.  Joy too, that he has gone to the next step in life's journey; perfection in eternity.

Right now I share a tear with you all.  In two weeks (sic) I will share another laugh with you in the room or other venue.

For now from Karon and I, our prayers, love and if we could, a hug and  :-*

Love and blessings

We have just returned from Dunoon where we attended the service for Alan. The sun shone, which makes a change from the journey up, and the service was lovely a fitting tribute for a "gentleman".

Hi all

I have just returned from my trip to Scotland. The weather was apalling on Tuesday but on Wednesday the sun shone. Both services were very moving and a fitting tribute to our friend Alan who we will never forget.

I know his family have been very moved by all the messages from Rootschatters - both his sons said they were amazed their dad had touched the lives of so many.
