First summary:

Henry Payne born 1867, Lingfield, married Alice Steer in 1891, East Grinstead and was a bricklayer,
1871 Lingfield, with parents, 1881 Lingfield with parents
1891 Lingfield with inlaws RG12 789 47 13,
1901 in Brighton RG13 929 20 31
Also found 1881 census for Alice Steer with her parents RG11/1059 65 3

Kerry hi, i looked at both Frank and Alfreds births and they didnt have middle names and they were with parents in 1901 so difficult to pinpoint which is them on the marriage index (i checked breifly for deaths but no ages tied in)

Alfred Payne married  1906 2Q Guildford Surrey
either Mary Ann Peters or Lilllie Theodora Ellis

Frank Payne married 1901 2Q East Grimstead Surrey
Minnie Bates or Margaret Fermor

Frank's is dodgy as if he was born 1894 would only be 7 ?
but I am going by area only

  She is working as a servant age 60 but i cant find her in any earlier census.

i did a quick look on the CWGC site for your Paynes also but nothing jumping up and down in front of me
and also soliders who died in the great war just with pob lingfield and east grinstead but no Paynes there

she married William Gardner Dec 1895 in Watford.
1901 - RG 13 1322 31 2 and her death also - Alice C Gardner Dec 1918

Martha Payne born 1871,
I was told she might have died 1893?   1871 Lingfield with parents, 1881, Lingfield with parents, 1891 Lingfield as housemaid, domestic   death confirmed age 21 1893

the troble is Tiggi they dont have middle names and we know where they werein 1901 but some moved away from the county so we have no idea where they married
