I was trying to just give Deidre the births, so only posted the deaths where there wasn't a birth, or to show that it really was who it was....


Ooooh I am getting in a tangle and it is too early in the morning for that.    

I think the Eliza UNDERDOWN [WA death index] who died in 1898 may be the wife of William Joshua George.

Now would anybody like to know about Lycurgus?

Of course you all would.
Well he seems to have arrived on in 1838 with his parents on The Lloyds into SA.  His mother was Mary Squire.  Like his father he was a Naturalist and Hotel Manager.

Now I am not sure of the intervening years but he had a decendant son named Lycurgus John Rickard Underdown born 1904 who was also A Hotel Manager and became well known in the Northern Territory where he was known to all as Uncle Ly.  He built a grand hotel in Alice Springs with  a lift!!

He ran cattle in partnership with John McAskill  He died in 1984.

I will find the link with a picture of him.

By  the Electoral Rolls  Joshua Underwood  had a wife  called Agnes.

So  then  by  the burials  at Karrakatta

in  the same  Grave as William Joshua Underwood  is
Mary Agnes Underwood  date of  death 16/1/1974 aged 91
