Hi All,
Regarding Hannah Eliza[beth] , the daughter who married Pitterson.
There is information on her contained in the war records of her sons on NAA.
Now, I must tell you that name-changing and creating confusion seems to run in the family.

Just put PITTERSEN in search on NAA and read the records for NORMAN,STANLEY and don't overlook HARRY SCOTT [who is using a false name when he enlists]

The STRIBLEY's are all tied in there too.

There are sections in the documents when it seems 'unknown ' whether HANNAH is dead or alive and half brothers are unsure of their relationships and BENDIK PITTERSEN [sometimes BENJAMIN] is both dead and alive.

Although it is not directly about UNDERDOWN, it may shed some light with addresses and birth places if you can unravel it ???

The marriage was mentioned but thanks Cando....I have now added it to the summary.

Sue....that's very interesting....especially the bit about name changing. It all adds credence, doesn't it?

Deidre.............Can  I  ask  what  did  Robert Underwood  die  of seeing  there was an  inquest please?

Sue, I  was also  reading   the  NAA records allways so  usefull,  I  see that  the  Stribely  boys  took  on  Pittersen's name but  not really .   Norman  was  killed  in  France.

going  to  check  the  directories see  when  they all arrived  in WA.

OH Dee excellent summary.

the  only  one  we  still  have  to  find  is  William Joshua Underdown  is  that correct?
