OK...Thanks Deirdre.

Now...just to add something else.....Robert Underdown who married Elizabeth McBroom came from Southleigh, Devon, parents Thomas and Ann nee Harding.

He had a brother Thomas Underdown baptised 1821 Southleigh Devon, parents Thomas and Ann nee Harding.

It's in BISA!

Too tired to type it all tonight, but if you would like the details, I'll type them tomorrow.

....dee

Dee you have earned more than just a good nights's sleep mate thank you very much I will have to print all this so I can digest it all.  You are so fast with the info that I find myself trying to post a reply 3 or 4 times and adding to it before I try again...lol.

In the marriage cert it states Robert JC's father as Farmer, so this follows through with the Emanuel Underdown occupation doesn't it.

Deirdre

There ya go Jenn I will look back at reply 33 I am getting pretty tired here as well and you guys have done all the work...lol...I have just been trying to keep up...lol

Dee..  Emanuel Underdown  came from Widworthy Devon,  wondering  if  there was a family connection happening.

Jenn

I reckon there probably was, Jenn.....might search a bit more tomorrow. The name Emanuel certainly suggests there was.

Now  what  could be  found  here  to  confirm  or deny  is a  newspaper article perhaps an obituary for Elizabeth Underdown  died 1916.  An  article  may say  where  her children are from  if you  follow  what  I am  trying  to  say.

regards Jenn

I always preface death cert info with the usual - info only as good as the informant's knowledge.

Definitely stated  place of marriage California, America but I found an Elizabeth McBROWN aged 20 born in Armagh arriving on the ASCENDANT in 1851. [Mentioned in BISA]  Of course it may not be Elizabeth Ann McBROOM :-\
http://www.slsa.sa.gov.au/fh/passengerlists/1851Ascendant.htm

Elizabeth was buried at Bendigo on 24 August 1916.

The informant obviously didn't know of Robert's death in January 1916.  Informant was funeral director.

Cheers
