A big well  done  to  U2 Dee and Raylen

but  are we any  closer

Dee  the information  from  the  BISA  can  be  a  little inaccurate some  times?

I  wonder Brighton, Victoria?  could be  Brighton  SA or Sydney  or QLD?

perhaps a copy of  his  birth certificate  might be  the only  factual  way  to  discover more?

But  well done

jenn

Found Robert Underdown's death in 1886!  :D  :D  :D

Robert NUDERDOWN aged 62 died at SANDHURST in 1886
Father = Thomas Underdown and Mother = Anne UNKNOWN
Ref = 10879

Jenn.....I know we are not any closer to finding a Robert as Underwood but there are hardly any Broom or McBroom records to be found.

Deidre can save or discard as she likes but maybe if we scavenge long enough we might just make a breakthrough.....and I know she is desperate for a breakthrough......

I know you weren't being disparaging, Jenn.....  :D

Oh ....I'm always having to correct my typing because I type pairs of letters in reverse, Jenn! So that's make two of us!  ;D  ;D  ;D

Raylen....you might be able to help us here....Sandhurst is near Geelong I believe?

I think we'll be able to follow this Underdown family now.......but proving the link is going to be the hard part. I've just looked at all the Underwood records for Victoria.....and there is nothing among them that looks even remotely helpful.

I know Deidre was worried about the year of birth deing different....but we know that ages on certifcates can be misleading at times.

The  age  he  was  32 when  he married  he says  but gentlemen  of  that age  in  those time  often  dropped  their ages down  a little  to  impress  the lday  etc for what ever reason,  he  may  never  have  known  exactly  when  he  was  born,  unless therer was a family  bible  or  journals.  Birth certificates were not  required then.

Well spotted Cando!
