WAY's in Tolpuddle / Puddletown

I am researching my paternal WAY line in Tolpuddle and environs. One problem that has stopped may researchers surrounds a John WAY born circa 1700. Some say 'unknown', some Puddletown and some say Tolpuddle.

Whatever, no one has come across his baptism record. I know your all going to say visit Dorchester archives and check it out ........ and THAT will be done over the coming months (Are Dorchester Archives open Saturday mornings one asks?).

Has anyone access to any information which might just answer this problem?

According to the Dorset History Centre's online guide, the registers for Tolpuddle only date from 1718.  Puddletown date from the 16th century.  Neither are available on the Dorset OPC site prior to 1718.

John Way Bn abt 1700 Tolpuddle, Dorset was married twice, 1. Mary Ann Unknown married 1719 Tolpuddle, Dorset, 2. Elizabeth Unknown married 1731 at Tolpuddle, Dorset.

His parents were William Way Bn abt 1675 who also married twice, 1. Rachel Unknown abt 1696 at Tolpuddle, Dorset, 2. Sarah Strickland who was married at Puddletown, Dorset 18th April 1731.

Do any names ring a bell?
