Richmond sausage Factory near the canal at Seaforth or Litherland.  Do you remember the opening sequence for Z Cars.   It included a shot of the bridge over the canal,  I think it was called "the Lift Bridge"

Hello pat38 just wondered if you found the staff records for Nelsons jam factory, my grandmother worked there on 1911 census. I have spent a long time trying to find the birth of her so it is a longshot that it may give her birth details.
Chapman - Antrim/Liverpool
Harde - Swansea
Lewis - Glamorgan
Eley - Lincolnshire
Guntrip - Acton

I used to live in Southport and the Ribble bus used to take us through Litherland past the sausage factory.  Unfortunately it has been demolished and until recently the space was covered with an advertising hoarding.

Re Nelsons Jam factory....the factory exists but it is now a business park.  The whole area has been "revamped".

Hello,
I wrote to Premier Foods via the contact form on their website on 20 January 2011 and I received a "Thank You" for my message but never received an answer to my message. I think I had an address for Chivas-Hartley who took Nelson's over so I will try them with a letter rather than an email.
Can't you find the Birth of your grandmother on Rootsweb FreeBMD. What is her name and I'll see if I can find her. I have got the Birth, Marriage and Death of my Great Aunt and I just wanted to see her Employee Record at Nelson's.
Regards
Pat
