Can anyone help with Phillippa Waters Prinn christened 7/12/1823, Mother Catherine no father mentioned on IGI

1841 she was living with the Dower family in St Blazey. by 1851 she was married to John Dower.

Was she the daughter of William & Catherine Prinn or Catherine b. abt 1798 daughter of Richard Prinn & Mary Edwards?

I think the absence of a fathers name on her baptismal record is an indication that she was illegitimate

Hi Greyfox and Carole

I am wondering if this could possibly be their marriage registration ... maybe her maiden name was Mistranscribed ?  :-\

June q 1844 , St Austell
vol 9 p 6
John Dower and on the same page Phillippa Pryme

The marriage cert may reveal a father's name ...

Yes, thanks for that, I believe she was the llegitamate daughter of Catherine daughter of Richard & Mary. One reason is that in 1851 Richard Hawke is living in the Dower household, if I am right he would be her 1st cousin.

I will try and get the marriage cert.

Seems like it is a surname that could easily have been varied

COCP transcription has PRIN

Phillippa Prin,,20,Ind.,In county,

Phillippa is christned Tywardreath, it would be worth contacting David, the OPC
http://www.cornwall-opc.org/Par_new/t_z/tywardreath.php if you haven't already and he could check the registers if he has them to verify the info for her baptism.
