Consulted a 89 year old relative, he said the shop was located about where Michael Moons Bookshop is now. there was a lady in there who's husband was a foreman with the Whitehaven Electricity Corp.#

Another shop in the same street was Batties.

Michael Moon's is No.19

17 is the rightmost section of Dixon's store http://tinyurl.com/6klbnha
It was still Jessie ANDERSON's in the 1921 directory.

Hi all

I'm getting confused!  ???

Has Atkinson's become Andersons ?  If so, this is the shop we want?  I can't remember it so maybe it closed before my time.  Moss's fine stationary and printers was on much of that stretch but possibly not right at that end.

Emms :) :) :) ::) ::) ::)

Hi Goeffe

Well that's one thing I'm less confused about anyway!  Except I thought I remembered an Andersons, and I don't remember a cake shop there>  Old age??? ::)!!

Andersons Cake Shop was situated where Geoffe showed.
Battys  was I think two doors down with a cake shop at the front and through to the rear was a cafe.
