Thanks. No luck there, either. I'll try the Castleton connection and see...

Would you mind looking up a birth for the following for me

in the 1851 census for Castleton the following person is listed

James ELLIOT age 89 born Ewes Dumfrieshire (making him born 1766)
in 1841 he is listed as 75 years old  (making him born 1762)

I have looked on Scotlands people can only find a James ELLIOT born 1766 at Eskdalemuir son of James Elliot and Mary Park

Many thanks

Vinnie

Hi
I know you posted your offer for Ewes look up a while ago - like 3 years! but I'm hoping you can help me. I'm looking for any info on the name FULTON. Alexander married Mary WARWICK in Ewes on 8 Dec 1805 and they had two children that
I know of; Joan b 1806 and Andrew b. 1808 in Canonbie. Andrew is my direct Ancestor and is next heard of in Low Holme, Cumberland in the 1851 census. I'm trying to find out what happened to the rest of the family.

Any help will be gratefully accepted

My apologies.  I was not aware that the 1851 Census was no longer present.

The 1851 census is still here:

The council updated their website!
