Hi my family tree

There appears to be some info in the Nottinghamshire Archives - Poor Law Records

www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/poorlawrecords.pdf  might give you something to get going on.

Happy Hunting :D

Here are two sites you could try

http://institutions.org.uk/workhouses/england/notts/nottinghamshire_workhouses.htm

And this site which is the best for workhouse information

Many thanks to you all.

I was searching well into the night and found the actual workhouse and list...and yes one of my relatives by marriage was on there.

I actually felt really sad seeing his name there..only 20 years earlier he was on the census,s as having a family and even servents...

seems sad when he had children why he never lived with them.

I dont know if he died there ...is there a death list...i would just like to know...if that makes sense.

Hi,

If you read the link that Su gave you, you'll see there is a death list covering that period held at Nottingham Archives. Unless you can get there easily and search it may be easier to locate the death on the GRO index and order the certificate, but I appreciate you might not want to do that for a side-twig of your tree!

If you tell us the name and birth year of your relative, someone can check those burials that have already been transcribed?
