  hi, this may be of some help to you, the "gote" is a area of cockermouth, there was a mill at gote, in fact a flax mill, and opposite that was a cattle feed mill, both still remain, the flax mill as a private residence, the feed mill as a haulage yard, there is still a gote brow, although it is in cockermouth i dont know what parish it would come under,(we have had this prob)
try cockermouth, or brigham, or all saints, or bridekirk, may be written as brydekirk, depending on year,
