I think you need some more information, Lancashire is a big place, you will need to narrow it down a bit. Are you sure that Elizabeth's name was Singleton before she married also? Have you found the family on the 1881 census which you can search yourself for free at www.familysearch.com?
If you paste the detail from it in here we can use it to help trace them in 1891 and 1901.

If you have found details of their marriage you can get their father's names from the marriage certificate, which will help take you back to the 1871 census which I would be happy to check if you can provide more detail.
Census Information is Crown Copyright, from The National Archives
Lunt (Wavertree/West Derby), Forshaw (West Derby), Richardson (Knowsley), Kent (Cheshire),
Cain (Hertfordshire, London), Larkins (Bedfordshire, London), Nunn (London), Lenton, Hillyard (Bedfordshire),
Parle, Lambert, Furlong, Wafer (Wexford)
Special separate interest in Longford (Blackrock, Dublin)

Can I suggest that if you request help you give all the information you have. As I say, Lancashire is a big place and I had to find the census entry in 1901 before I knew it was for Preston. If you have a census, provide all the details, ages and where born, parents/children/siblings are all important to identify a family unit. There could have been many William Singletons and I wouldn't have known which of them was yours.
27 Albert Road, Preston
William H Singleton Head M 48 Horse Driver Groom Lancs Preston
Elizabeth Wife M 46 " "
Henrietta daur S 22 Biscuit Packer Bread Makers " "
Thomas Singleton Son S 18 HOrse Driver ""
Henry Son 14 Warehouse Hand " "
Elizabeth A daur 12 Cotton Weaver " "
John Son 10 " "
William Son 9 " "
Mary A daur 6 " "
Charles Son 5 " "

In 1891 - 26 Albert Road, Preston
W H Singleton Head M 39 Groom Lancs Preston
Elizabeth Wife M 36 " "
Henrietta daur 12 scholar " "
Thomas Son 8 " " "
Henry Son 4 " " "
Elizabeth daur 2 " " "
Ann Porter Mother Wid 74 Living on her own means Lancs Preston

Elizabeth Porter married William Henry Singleton September quarter 1877 Preston district Lancashire Volume 8e Page 819. You can use this information to order the marriage certificate online at http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/ which will give you their ages, occupations, addresses, father's names and occupations and a couple of witnesses who hopefully may be family members to help you along the way.

In 1881 they were still at 26 Albert Road, Preston
William Singleton Head M 28 Coachman Lancashire Broughton
Elizabeth Wife M 25 Lancashire Preston
Henrietta daur 2 " "
William Henry son 1 " "
Also a lodger Mary Ann Lenirk? Unm 22 Cotton Weaver Preston

In 1871 there is a possible William but you won't know for sure until you get the marriage certificate to see if it is the right father.
Victoria Road, Fulwood
Thomas Singleton Head M 40 Labourer Coal Yard, Lancashire Chipping
Elizabeth Wife M 41 Laundress Lancashire Preston
William Son Unm 18 Joiner " "
John Son 12 Scholar Lancashire Broughton
Elizabeth daur 9 " " "
Alice daur 6 " " "
Emily daur 4 " " Preston
Nancy Bleasdale Lodger Unm 57 Laundress " Myerscough

Again there is a possible Elizabeth with mother Ann, in I think Docker Street, but she's down as 20 years old, which doesn't match, so you had best wait for the marriage certificate and take it from there.

Hi,
My natural grandfather was called Henry Singleton, born 1913 in Manchester, he married Alice Hodges. They had 2 children, Jean and Derek.
Don't know if they are of the same Singletons?

It is a fairly common name. I have Mary Ann Singleton who married Charles Atkinson in 1835 probably in Bury, possibly in Bolton.
