Milton

There is a member on Ancestry.com with John Perkins' brother (William 1814-1887), but not found anyone else so far. There are a few more perkins in the area but can't work out where or if they fit in - on the plus side there aren't that man in the area at the time so chances are they are all closely related.

However, the IGIs for St Davids are not that helpful - most records don't show any parents names or if theydo it is just Mr and Mrs Perkins etc, which makes it impossible to trace any line for sure.

I am going back to the original posting by BUZZ as to Elizabeth Perkins.  I have my GGG Grand Father William Henry Perkins b/1801 in Hertfordshine.  His parents are thought to be John Perkins ( b/1785 in Wokingham ) and Ann Cruttwell ( b/ Workingham ).  My G Grand Father was Henry Cruttwell Perkins ... I believe the Crutwell middle name is strong evidence of the connection here.  Buzz has a Thomas Perkins b/  Wokingham who is thought to be the younger brother of John Perkins ( b/1785 ).

The parents of John and Thomas should be Thomas and Elizabeth Perkins.  If anyone can add to this that would be appreciated.

In addition, in the many dialogue pages there is reference to a Wokingham history book .... does anyone know if this is available on line??  I live on Vancouver Island ( West Coast of Canada ) and I need to rely on the internet.

Thanks to all for this interesting read......Regards Bob on Vancouver Island

Hi Bob

I think you might find this web site useful. If you search for 'Wokingham' you will find lots of local history books you can buy.

Good Luck with your search

I think that you are referring to the Wokingham Historian which was published by the Wokingham Society History Group.  It is unlikely to be available online and only the later issues seem to still be available in some local bookshops.

The good news is that the issues which refer to the Perkins family (see my earlier post) are available from the Berks FHS bookshop at the site mentioned above.

Hi Folks,
The Wokingham History Group has issued eleven publications over the years all or most of which, together with other publications, are on sale in Wokingham Town Hall Information Bureau. A list of publications can be found in the website of the Wokingham Society (wokinghamsociety.org.uk) If you have any problems please let me know and I'll try to help.

Hi Milly Perkins,
Good to hear from you. My first question is what was Buzz's Christian name?
My wife and I will be in Aukland in a few days time perhaps we could exchange information while we are out there. Our friends' email address is *
