Borders around various items

Ok Thank you all for your input ~ I have got Paintshop Pro 8 but I haven't used it yet.  I am on the first page of creating my family history book so I need something that is going to be user friendly.

I will try everything you have suggested thank you.

I am using your instructions from before about inserting a picture into Word which is fine and I can resize too.  But where are you finding the 'rectangle' to put a border around your photo or cert etc.

Sorry for the delay - been out

The easiest is to go to View ->Toolbars and click on Drawing. This should bring up the Graphics toolbar - probably at the bottom of the screen. You'll then see the rectangle tool and various other options.

Have a play 

To be honest, I would put borders on in PaintShop or any other Graphics program (as silvery suggested)  but this should work fine

Here are instructions for borders in Word - it is not hard to do, but it can be a bit fiddly. 

In the second pic  should have said Click on Format Autoshape

My View Toolbars only has Standard, Formatting, and Large Icons I cannot get drawing to minimise on the bottom toolbar.

I have already clicked on the document I want to border and when I select drawing/rectangle it just shades the document out.

Also I don't have Format Autoshape.

My computer doesn't seem to be the same as yours.

I think sula is suggesting what I was saying last night - you have to select the Fill option (the little bucket)  and then no fill.

I hope sula can put this up for you as i'm off shortly.
