Believe me, I get confused too.
A couple of points worth remembering:
In the earlier centuries, polygamy was perfectly acceptable amongst the Romanies.
It was also the norm to marry within the family, so cousins would marry cousins etc to keep the bloodlines pure.
In the latter half of the 19th century and early part of the 20th, several members of the Journals Of The Gypsy Lore Society (JGLS) deposited in their archives family trees of families such as Boswells Herons/Hearns which they had drawn up talking to members of those families. They are a very important aid to anyone researching those families.
