Army Deserters
« on: Wednesday 12 March 08 09:54 GMT (UK) »
Does anyone know on which part of the body British Army deserters were tattooed with the letter "D".  I've searched the internet but have not been able to find the info.
Cheers
Sarah ;)

Sarah,

Deserters were apparently branded on the forehead according to this website:

http://www.bbk.ac.uk/english/skc/marks/

You'll find more information under the heading 'Capital Punishment'.

Thanks Swampy.  I will take a look at it now.  I've kept Googling but haven't managed to find anything.
Take Care
