,see what i mean?jewish gen is very difficult.however they often congregated in certain areas.if your in spitafields now a another good place to look is bethnal green and tower hamlets area.there were a number of jewish emigrations over the centuries in blocks so to speak,some from russia,some from spain that i know of.my own family lost a lot of their jewish ways as they became more westernised and they ended up in the late 1800s getting married in anglican churchs.so you may be lucky.i think they had to have a regitrar present or the rabbi had to inform the registrar of births marriages and deaths after 1837.not sure about that though cathay b
