Hello everyone and welcome to Patrishs' Scavenger Hunt. We've got an interesting one this week but I'm sure you'll work it all out and the information will come pouring in.
Here you go.
Good luck and Good Hunting.
************************
This is my Jewish Phillips family, a lot of records are closed, not available unless you pay for a search which I have done it the past.
1851 HO107/1545/301/32
16 Swan Court, Whitechapel, Middx.
Catherine Phillips widow 50 General Dealer b Whitechapel
John Phillips un 31 General Dealer b Whitechapel
Emmanuel Phillips un 24 General Dealer b Whitechapel
Emmanuel is my direct descendant. I have found what I beleive to be is a younger brother Samuel he married in the January 1851 address at time of marriage, 2 Swan Court. His occupation and subsequent childrens name tie in.
On his marriage father is given as Philip Phillips deceased. It was a jewish custom to name the first born son after the grandfather if deceased which is the case here.
What I would like to find is
1. A marriage for Catherine and Philip Phillips circa 1820
2. Any baptisms for the 3 brothers
3. The death of Philip Phillips
4. Them on the 41 census
I know that Emmanuel "married"( but no legal one found )a Susanna Palmer.
I have thier first childs birth also Philip Phillips in Whitechapel , Spitalfields June 1854.
I have Samuel and Hannah in 1871 and 1881 only
And Emmanuel and Susanah in 1871 and 1881 only
I also have Emmanuels son Philip on the 1881 with his widowed mother Susan, and some siblings I also have Emmanuels death..
So there are a few census's to stab at.
Is that enough info
