Hi Davey
Not sure if this is any use, but my great, great grandparents ran The Plough, West Drayton in 1841

Hello,

Many thanks for this link. The association has its own website but there is no information on the Plough at Stewkley. I have not contacted them directly though.

Kind regards,

David

Always worth making contact with a local group - you never know what information they may have.  :-)

Charles Mead had the Plough in 1875

He's listed in Harrod's 1876 Directory as a beer retailer, one of several in Stewkley.

Occupation "Plough Public House" (it looks more like Pubic House but that can't be right)

From the Buckinghamshire 1872 Beer house list.

The Licence was granted in 1845, for the Plough in Stewkley.  Occupier/Licencee, in 1872 was a Charles Mead.

The owner of the Plough was E.M.M. Lucas of Rowsham.
