Anyone searching for CATTLE surnames?
« on: Friday 07 March 08 23:48 GMT (UK) »
 :) Hi everyone,
anyone searching the elusive Cattle surname coming from the London
area? I have lots of Cattles starting in 1800 in Clerkenwell, St Pancras
have not gotten back any further. I was told by a family member that
they came from Spain but no indication of that in records!

Hi minnieminer!

Welcome to rootschat! Are you familiar with the IGI? There are a lot of Cattle's listed - with different spellings of the surname as you'd expect.

Please give the names of your ancestors and someone may be able to help.

If not, there are county specific boards and you may wish to post the names of those you are seeking, as some people only look at the boards they have expertise in.

Good luck!

 :) Hi Ruskie,
thanks I will put my cattle surnames and dates on a specific county
board. I keep forgetting that there is a whole genealogy world out there
and not all focused on the UK. I will put them on this board as well and
keep the fingers crossed.  Yes, I was surprised of the many ways there
are to spell the Cattle name when I first delved into this.
I am also searching for Smiths but thats another story!!
