John Stuart Scarth was my ggggrandfather. He was born in 1809 in Lisbon, Portugal.  His father was John Scarth also born in Orkney.  John Stuart Scarth lived in Liverpool as did William Baikie, in fact I think that perhaps all the Scarths in Liverpool are related to me!
