Hello cornishgal,

A Big Welcome to RootsChat  ;D

You have certainly come to the right place if you are looking for records from the St Columb Area  ;D I hold the Parish Records on microfiche for many parishes in The St Columb District.  ;D

I do have burial records for both St Columb Major and St Columb Minor. If you can give me some details I will be happy to take a look for you.

Cheers Kris  :D

I am looking for ROBERTS

Ethel , and William
Children of Sampson and Elizabeth Roberts.

Hi Cornishgal,

Can you please tell me what you have. I will require some idea of just when and where to look. This is a matter of looking through the microfiche. If you can give me an idea of when they may have died and are we talking about St Col Major or St Col Minor I will do my best to find it. Do we have any census records to help with a timeframe, or are we talking pre or post census? We have hundreds of years of registers............Kris  :D

Baptisms St Columb Minor. The Rev Eade was new in town and clearly set about bringing all the unbaptised to the fold. Alas no sign of any others prior to the families move to Perranzabuloe

ROBERTS Annie Louisa 17 Nov 1887 Parents Sampson and Elizabeth Jane, Father Engineer of Trencreek

ROBERTS William Sampson 17 Nov 1887 Parents Sampson and Elizth Jane, Father Engineer of Trencreek

ROBERTS Herbert 17 Nov 1887 Parents Sampson and Elizth Jane, Father Engineer of Trencreek

ROBERTS Elizabeth Mary 17 Nov 1887 Parents Sampson and Mary Jane, Father Engineer of Trencreek

That is how the mothers name appears in the entries I am afraid  :-\

PS Aha Am going to take a look at Newlyn - On rechecking 1891 census I note wife is 28 dau Elizabeth M is 18 so it appears there will be an earlier marriage to explain this   ;D

Cheers Kris  :D

Righteo,

Looks like Sampson ROBERTS = Mary Jane DOCKING Mar 1/4 1871 Truro 5c 267

Sampson ROBERTS = Elizabeth Jane PARNELL Jun 1/4 1880 5c 221

Probably not telling you anything you don't know there but I wanted to clarify it for myself.

Banns were not read for either marriage in Newlyn East

Mary Jane ROBERTS Died aged 23 Jun 1/4 1874 St Col 5c 73

Mary Jane ROBERTS aged 23 of Down Lane, was buried 28 Jun 1874 Newlyn East

ROBERTS Clara Jane was baptised 6 Aug 1871 Newlyn East, Parents Sampson and Mary Jane, father Miner of St Newlyn

Miner to Engineer.....WOW
