what software??

Goodo a chat about software 

I use CS2 ... not because I'm incredibly advanced and need anything that techy ! ... but because that's what my OH has here at home.

It was certainly insanely confusing for me to start with and I have always wondered what Elements might be like, so thank you for the links Dai ... hope I will be able to have a look at them and maybe get a free trial 
 
I'm assuming they are Mac friendly

                 I've got Elements 2.0 , 4.0, 5.0 plus loads of others.

      You will find that they all have the basics & more.

         I've just purchased Serif Photoplus 11 complete with album plus4 and
  a very thick user manual for £ 13-00 inc postage direct from Serif.

     It has got everything that all the other programmes have , Layers,Masking etc. etc.
 
     Did I need it? No! but for that price I can give it to one of my nieces as a present.
   Of course I will tell her it cost me £60-00

   there are five free programmes there including photoplus 6.0  It's old but it's got everything
    you need.   So you can do plenty of practising for nothing.  Of course they will then have
   your e-mail and occasionally present you with offers, but over the years it's never annoyed me.

I agree with Tomkin Serif Photoplus has everything you need, I'm on version 9 but seriously considering an upgrade.
(There DTP software Pageplus is also excellent)

Unfortunately the Elements free trial is not availble until the end of March for people with Apple/Macs


Don't think any of the others mentioned are usable

Can't see anything there but that's probably because I'm useless at finding computer stuff !     

I'll just carry on with CS2 and get the elements free trial in a couple of weeks ...
