Why have we got Killyleigh Baptisms(I know now)
« on: Tuesday 04 March 08 16:28 GMT (UK) »
The reason i ask is because i live in the north of England and among some directories on a film  there is mention of (Baptisms of the Congregation of Killyleigh,Ireland, 1835 1881.I haven't had chance to look at it yet.So i not sure what form it is in but book i should imagine ::),is this available to anyone on here?

I believe there are a compilation of the records of the Rev. Andrew Breakey. The records do not specify which church, but they were kept by Rev. Andrew Breakey, who was minister in the First Presbyterian Church, Killyleagh County Down from 1825.
They are probably microfilmed, and to be honest if you do get a chance to look at them, I have a few lookup requests for you.

I was thinking ::) If the records are readable and i can transcribe them (over time) would it be of any use to anyone on the Irish board to hold the transcriptions. If the records are to far away for people  to visit to view them.Just a thought ;D

Hi celia,
The records are probably in Northern Ireland somewhere, But your post caught my eye as I have an ancestor on my wife's side who was married there.
The details i will send by PM if you could do a look up for me that would be great.
The records are in England, probably because someone there had ancestors in Killyleagh, and they were able to get a copy of the Killyleagh records.

Thx
OTTO
