nothing about essex.sorry.but i have found some old papers and docs about henry 1838 birch so i will read through and hope to give some more clues after lunch.about half an hr.nice to see you on here badger we need your expertise.while i am here i have a problem with my crossword.nocturnal rodent begins with f and 10 letters if anyone can help.see ya soon.love cathay.oh john has found a birth date for one of robert hughes kids so i will be able to get a birth cert.thank |God for that.

yep i think thats him.more in a while.keep looking folks,i need a death for william burch now from 1841 to 1850 to tie in his perantage.a charlotte burch in newton abbott devon workhouse 1841.was she pregnant and left alone.bear in mind ages can vary by 5 years in 1841 cencus.

i got a death for a william burch dec 1840 plymouth area stoke dameral. vol 9 p.294.  do they make mistakes on birth dates?if he henry was born 1842 this could not be his dad.whats think everyone.are ypou all out shopping or watching the football?come back here and play with me please.i promise to share my sweets and be nice?? :o :o :o ::) ::)

As daft as this might sound its still possible that william death 1840 could still be father of child henry 1842 recheck encase that is baptizm not actual birth

Until you check a parish register or, after Sept 1837, the civil registration (or both, because people early on would not always register a birth), you can't be positive of a birth/baptism date. 

In the case of death, the information is only as good as the person who supplied it.

All of which points to why one needs to find parish registers (which will still have births/baptisms even after civil reg came into being), censuses, marriages, and deaths documents (the last two also being in parish registers).

ignorant fool that i am,how do i know if its birth or baptism?i found it on ancestry the date of birth i presume.and the death the same.i thought ancestry normally correct?
