Deb,

It looks like that there is a Vashti Davis then as the Hughes/Jones Vashti was with Albert Wells in 1901

Name             Age   Birthplace                                 Relationship          Occupation
Albert Wells     40     Axminstrer, Devon, England      Head                     Hawker
Vashti Wells    38     Not Stated                                 Wife

Just found the marriage -

Name:   Albert Wells
Name:   Vashti Hughes
Year of Registration:   1884
Quarter of Registration:   Apr-May-Jun
District:   Axminster
County:   Devon, Dorset
Volume:   5b
Page:   11

Hughes, Cooper, Ayres, Barnes, Jeff, Bland, Lamb, Doe, Isaacs, all travelers from the Midlands & South of England

if we could work out a link to Britannia i would be over the moon  ::)
all i have on her is a d/o/b/ for her of 24 Apr 1853 that was given to be but ive never found any proof for it, she married Thomas holland in luppit devon on 11/7/1870 father Joseph hughes agian i was told wife name possible Eliza but no proof she gave Hampshire as place of birth on all census
                   Matilda  ;)

I have Britannia Hughes born 1851 daughter of Joseph Hughes marriage seems correct as to what I was given
witnesses were Robert Hughes & Rachel Holland
They had 8 kids

is there any chance this could be her?

Hi Cathy,

Have read all the posts with interest.  Your Harriet Isaacs is the sister of my 2 x great grandfather James Isaacs b. 1822 Broad Hinton.  His father was Thomas Isaacs a tin man.  James Isaacs and his very large family eventually settled in Penselwood/Stoke Trister.  I know this doesn't provide you with any more information but I guess we have a connection!   Ginny :)
