The Hughes family that I posted in 1881 ...is the William Hughes that you had found in 1901 and 1871... You had said earlier that this William could possibly also be a son of Robert Hughes and sarah.

quote:
" There is also possibly another brother William Hughes, in 1901 he is with his son at Poole, in 1871 at Kilmington, Devon"

further to this William Hughes ... in 1871 he has wife Elizabeth, and children ;James (b Honiton), Mary Ann (b Hants, Alton), Matthew 6 months (mere, Wilts). We also have him as a widower in 1901

found this in 1881
Heathersland Village, Dorset
William HUGHES head 45 tinker b Hants Alton
Elizabeth wife 48 pedlar b Wilts salisbury
Mathew son 11 b Mere Wiltshire
Job son 3 b Dorset Kinstonand 1871.

hope I am making sense

Deb, I have looked through what I have in information and think that despite various birth places this William is the son of James & Mary Hughes RG9-1612-34-5 Culmstock, Devon

Name             Age   Birthplace                    Relationship   Occupation
James Hughes    52    Devizes, Wiltshire, England   Head               Tin Man
Mary Hughes    51    Devizes, Wiltshire, England   Wife
William Hughes    20    Devizes, Wiltshire, England   Son       Tin Man
Eliza Hughes    16    Devizes, Wiltshire, England   Daughter
Cellana Hughes    13    Devizes, Wiltshire, England   Daughter
Burger Plot."
