There is also possibly another brother William Hughes, in 1901 he is with his son at Poole, in 1871 at Kilmington, Devon

further to this William Hughes ... in 1871 he has wife Elizabeth, and children ;James (b Honiton), Mary Ann (b Hants, Alton), Matthew 6 months (mere, Wilts). We also have him as a widower in 1901

found this in 1881
Heathersland Village, Dorset
William HUGHES head 45 tinker b Hants Alton  :-\
Elizabeth wife 48 pedlar b Wilts salisbury
Mathew son 11 b Mere Wiltshire
Job son 3 b Dorset Kinston
next door
James WHITE 50 pedlar b Eilts
Selway? wife 43 pedlar Hants
Elderion? dau 17 shoe cobler b Hants Rowley?
George 14 b Hants Rowley/Rowsey
?ddej?? son 12 b Winchester
Samuel 10 b dorset Kinston
Elizabeth 8 dorset Ringwood

I think Cathay told us that someone went by the name White...I think Eli Hughes ... :-\

Message from Cathayb - she is having problems with her internet connection! she would like us all to look for - henry birch 1831.

The White family at Heatherlands is James White & Selby Ayres, there grandaughter Caroline married Uncle Joby Hughes in 1923, he is the grandson of Eli Hughes, as far as I know this part of the Hughes family did not use the name White - that seems to be connected to descendants of Tom White & Priscilla Hughes (born 1830)

I do not know where the Hughes in the 1881 fits with our family Thanks.

Hughes, Cooper, Ayres, Barnes, Jeff, Bland, Lamb, Doe, Isaacs, all travelers from the Midlands & South of England
