I have been reading through the queries on Romanygenes and someone related to Robert hughes b 1818 seems to think that his mum Mary had 'something to do with the Penfolds'!

i am afraid robert birch is married to harriet birch nee isaacs.so charlotte nash is i am afraid no go.we think charlotte?was married to william birch and that they are the perants of henry birch 1839.we are looking for robert and haRRIET around 1852/53 as 1st child mary ann born around then.   william birch charlotte nash possible i suppose as long as they get back to devon by 41.and william is dead before 51 as we have charlotte as a widow with henry in plymouth.love cathay

            Robert hughes mum with penfolds wouldnt suprize me as his daughter Ocean married a penfold  and we all know how they like to keep within there family groups lol
