hi Cathay

I have searched 1841 for Henry Birch b c 1839 ...the only close one i can see is a henry Birch , 2 living with Nancy Birch , 26 in Cornwall, North down ...her occupation has been totally drawn through . She was born in county , Henry is No , not born in county.

In 1861  Henry Birch , 21, b St Mary, Exeter is with his wife Charlotte Westcott (23, b Exminster Devon) ..he is a licensed Hawker. arrgghhhh why couldn't he make up his mind about who his dad was ... ;D

i dont know if they were still about, unlikely as they would have been in their 80s and i done their kids and they are not with them.i told you these are diifficult ones.i have been tearing my hair out over them for over a year.cant find any deaths registered for them either and i have visited every grave site i thought they might be.i think someone must have buried them on the side of the road!!!!!cathayb

hi hepburn ...nice to see you  :D

Okay ... Henry Birch b 1839 said his dad was William (for 1st marriage) and Henry (for 2nd marriage)

I have searched for deaths for both names using Birch and Burch ...
this is the only one I can find prior to 1841

William BURCH
dec q 1840 Stoke Damerel
vol 9 p 294

I wonder if it would be worth getting the cert to see who registered it and all the other details ...if it is Charlotte ... then hopefully we can say that his dad was William and not Henry.
