Thought you might like to know a bit about the history of the place that your ancestor lived and worked (if he does turn out to be your Robert's brother, which it is looking like) and the photo would show you where they lived, maybe your Robert and family even visited him there.....

Hi Cathay  ;D

You are not stupid ! LOL ... Cathay ... if we find one of your Robert's siblings marriages it will hopefully give us the dad's name ... We have your Robert with his mother Ann ...

We cannot find Robert's marriage to Harriet Isaacs ... :-\ so we are taking a different route .

One of robert's brother's , it seems, may have runn the pub ..where Dick Turpine used to go ...

deb your cousin  :-*

Right this is a bit of a leap,  but I have to go and sort dinner in a min and I wanted you to have these.

Also from Andover what looks like the baptism of William (father of Rober & James etc) and a brother and sister,  note the name Charlotte,  I am wondering if Charlotte the mother of the mysterious Henry was maybe not married and just may have been the daughter of Thomas,  named after his sister,  the dates would work I think but it is just a theory (sounds better than guess  :)  )

BIRCH Charlotte    Chr   1793   Andover
Thomas BIRCH & Elizabeth
BIRCH William   Chr   1795   Andover
Thomas BIRCH & Elizabeth
BIRCH Thomas   Chr   1797   Andover
Thomas BIRCH & Elizabeth

Hi Lesanne

Nice to see you :)

Cathay ..I have Robert Hughes in the 1891 census with Sarah his wife aged 63 and their children; Joseph 36, Leonard 26 and Sarah 21. Living on Aylesbear common next to the Orchard family.

You say he married Sarah Davis ...do you have them on other censuses .

according to IGI Robert's parents are Robert and Mary ... now to find their marriage  ;D
