Hi Karen

There are a couple of Kennedys, one is a Captain David Kennedy mentioned on a McColm gravestone, (husband of Elenora McColm)

Also Agnes Kennedy mentioned on a McQuiltan gravestone (wife of William McQuiltan)

No McKillops but one McKellop, Janet, mentioned on  an Angus gravestone.

I'll transcribe if you think they are of use to you.

Hi Terry

I don't know if I have already asked this question but, well, here goes.

Is there a Catholic Churchyard in the vicinity of Inch where John Williamson and his wife Jane may have been buried?

Hi,

Sorry Judy I can't help you with that one, I'm the other side of Scotland so I can't even go take a look for you.

Re Allison family my family came from Wigton Penninghame do you have any names at all as I have information on my descendents from that area, I live in New Zealand my great great grandfather David Burnie Allison as a young man came to NZ in 1865, so maybe there is a connection?

Hi Maria  :)

1 Allison in Kirkcolm none in Inch.

The one in Kirkcolm was married to James Ralston, she is the only Allison on the stone. Do you want it transcribed.

Welcome to Rootschat, Maria

I presume you have found on the IGI a David Burnie Allison born 1839 Newton Stewart, Wigtownshire, of parents  father Samuel Allison and mother Isabella McLachlan? Also on the IGI the Christening on 24 June 1838 at Penningham, Wigtownshire of David Allison with the same parents. The Family Search site is not always accurate though. His death is also recorded as 15 February 1919. There is a Penningham a few miles north-west of Newton Stewart.
