Farbrace, Fairbrace, Fairbrass
« on: Saturday 01 March 08 11:38 GMT (UK) »
Keen to communicate with anybody who can help with my one-name study. Need help with linking a number of Fairbrass born 1902-1912 as I have not yet identified parents accurately.

what are the first names and where were they born
specially the ones born in 1912 it should give you the mothers maiden name on the marriage indexes after 1911.

a very warm welcome to rootschat.

Thanks for comment. Less problem once mother's maiden name available however when father's name not known or mother's maiden name not same as in marriage register. Here are main people whose fathers I do not know - so any help so that I can link their lines appreciated as I was expecting to have to wait for the 1911 census to identify many of them-

Frederick Fairbrass birth reg West Ham 1901
Albert Edward Fairbrass birth reg West Ham 1902
Amy Fairbrass birth reg Southwark 1903
Frank Albert Fairbrass birth reg West Ham 1904
Agnes Maud Fairbrass birth reg Camberwell 1906
Daniel Alfred Fairbrass birth reg Mile End 1906
William Frederick Fairbrass birth reg West Ham 1908
Daniel William Fairbrass birth reg Bethnal Green 1908
Albert Victor Fairbrass birth reg Bethnal Green 1908
George Thomas William Fairbrass birth reg Daventry 1909
Daniel Alfred Fairbrass birth reg Lambeth 1909
Christopher Thomas Fairbrass birth reg Lambeth 1911
Lucy Eleanor Fairbrass birth reg Stepney 1911
Alfred Leonard Fairbrass birth reg West Ham 1913[mother Annesley]
Florence D Fairbrass birth reg Wandsworth 1912 [mother Carpenter]

I also have the following to place but want to know who they are exactly
George Fairbrass Marriage reg Toxteth 1918 to Dorothy Bindle
George W Fairbrass Marriage reg 1920 to Charlotte Francis
Charles H Fairbrass Marriage reg Wycombe 1921 to Mary M Harris
Frederick Fairbrass Marriage reg Wolverhampton 1922 to Fanny R Cooper
William G Fairbrass Marriage reg Plymouth 1940 to Mabel M White
James D Fairbrass birth reg Ilford 1952 [mother Boyd]
Alan J Fairbrass birth reg Surrey N 1964 [mother Chaffe]
Paul Robert Fairbrass birth reg Kingston/Ths 1966 [mother Chaffe]

Thanks in antivipation

had a look but could find no matches
sorry
mick
maybe you should split them up and post them on the county boards
i know there are some very knowledgable people on the essex board
you could post the west ham births on there.

To be honest, you're moving into the realms of contemporary records here, and living people.   It's not really family history as we understand it.  More like current affairs   :)

Thanks for that, the early 1900 queries are my primary concerns as I have traced them to the present day its just attaching them to the right branch. I have all the branches but need the father's name to attach them.  However could you not say yesterday is now history? Seriously I am hoping somebody who is or was a Fairbrass may read this and make contact. Regards, John

have you tried http://www.GenesReunited.co.uk/

To be honest, I have one or two reservations about tracing people up to the present day.  It must have cost a bit in certificates   ;D

Well possibly not, I have an exceedingly rare name in my tree, which is very easy to trace up to the present day.  I suppose what I have reservations with is putting peoples names on here, who may google it unintentionally, and  who have no input in the matter.

Hi Silvery, Yes I belong to Genes Reunited and that has proved quite successful and led to contact to a number of the London/West Ham based families which has greatly reduced my queries list. Sadly the names I listed didn't figure in their families [to their knowledge]so still trying. I appreciate what you are saying and do not intend to list further names. I posted most because it is such a shame to have such a large branch floating aimlessly around waiting to be attached. You are right it was costly getting certificates and over time decided against purchasing more for distant cousins. My branch is spelt Farbrace and I have half a dozen people not explained since 1837 so am quite happy with that but the Fairbrass spelling is much more common so many still to identify correctly. Thanks Silvery for responding. Regards, John
