COMPLETED William Standway PARKINSON 1770-1838

Looking for any info about the family of William Standway PARKINSON. He married Anne CLARKE c1800, and had at least four daughters. Can find three of them but not the fourth, or any sons.

Blanche Elizabeth 1802-1867 married James GREEN a surgeon of Ramsgate
Ruth Mary 1804-? married Henry STREET
Hero Sarah married David BLAIKLOCK (The fourth daughter).

WS PARKINSON was a Naval Officer who had served with Nelson in the Mediterranean.

Nothing on census for William and Anne as he died 1838 and she in Jan 1841. Have his will, but he leaves everything to her, no mention of children.

Yes I had Hero Sarah's death thank you. Found it in The Times.

Now to find Ann on the census or getting married somewhere.

My interest is through the David Blaiklock's mother who was Ann Butcher born 1778 in Hascombe Surrey and died 1838 Newington.

Sorry Julie, forgot to get back to you.

Have some info on the Blaiklocks, but not a lot. Only from what I have been able to find on the census and TDA.

Am doing this at work so cannot look up the names but from what I can remember, one of the Blaiklock girls, Hero I think, married a Henry PATCH, a clergyman from Winchelsea, and one of their daughters Blanche was George Bernard Shaw's secretary for many years. Two of the PATCH sons came out to Australia, but one was KIA in WW1.

My Connection is through the CLARKE side, Hero PARKINSON was a first cousin to Beaumaurice Stracey CLARKE in my sig photo.

Have the info from St Andrew's Holborn thanks, also Anne Clarke's will. She left everything to Anne Parkinson.

Had seen the one born 1769 but had discounted it because of the death. Have not checked the PRs though to see if it is the same one who died or was another WSP, a grandfather perhaps.

There is a bit about WSP on the web, mainly because he served in the Mediterannean with Nelson.

There must be more children as well unless they lost a few. He was not at sea much after about 1800 as far as I have been able to find. The TDA marriage notice for Hero Sarah born 1805 and David BLAIKLOCK in 1839 said she was the fourth daughter, then there is 13 years until Ann Catherine in 1818.

The name Stanway/Standway does appear but as grand and great grandsons second names.

William Standway PARKINSON died at 9.30 am on 19 February 1838 at 35 Nutford Place, Saint Mary, Saint Marylebone, aged 69 years of decay of nature.
