Dear Wally,
I have been having a little look at ancestry and family search and found the 1891 England Census for Helena Putz, Head Nurse , born in Dusseldorf, aged 28, at Royal Alexandra Hospital for sick Children at Brighton, Sussex.

the 1901England census says she was Matron at Junction Road Cottage hospital, Andover, UK and a Naturalised British Subject. aged 36 so making her born c1865.
I then found in Family Search but unfortunately no date
Helena Puetz born to Robert Puetz and Elisabeth Takaberg, born Duesseldorf, Staat Rheinland,Prussia.
Index C98808-2, System Germany ODM, Source 937469. Germany Births and Baptisms 1558 -1898
So this is Helena. I also found her record in the National Probate Calendar.
I can't seem to find anything on Robert except for his marriage to Elizabeth Tackaberry.
Sorry if you already had this.
Best wishes,
Joanne. (In the wet UK)

Dear Joanne,
Thanks for that and,no, I didn't have her birth records from Germany and I thought that I may have to get the marriage records for a Helena Putz. So,thanks again!!
The only other thing I found was that they bought land in Stillwater,Washington County,Minnesota, the year after they married.
This Helena, who married shortly after her mother passed away, was Helena M Putz and which suggests "Maria".
By any chance would you be able to access Methodisr Baptisms in Ireland??
Regards
Wally

Hi Wally,
The probate record for our Helena shows she was a spinster. Did you have that?
I just googled Methodist baptisms in Ireland and came up with "Your Irish Ancestry search for Methodists" - Irish Genealogy toolkit. It has some interesting information on this site. PRONI do carry some records but they may be in other Church registers also. Who were you wanting to look for?

Regards,
Joanne.

Dear Joanne,
Thanks again!
What a wonderful person Richard Hand Wood must have been to have two very young step-daughters and to bring them up as his own.
I am interested in the Methodist Baptisms for the children of Fossey Tackaberry and the "Crooks" as I am looking to have all of the second names.
Regards,
Wally

Hi Wally,
I think Richard Hand Wood was even more special, as when his brother George and sister-in-law died quite young in Belfast  he became  custodian of their young children for a time, in Sligo, before some of them went to Australia.

Sometimes in the baptism certificates I have from Ireland, I have found there is no middle name entered in the registers, but this seems to be something that is added by the parents or children later. I am not sure if it is the same for the Methodist Registers.
Best Wishes,
Joanne.

Dear "Woodzy",
Thought you may be interested in the following from the old bible page:
Henry Godkin the son of Henry Godkin of Smalley was born the 17th of September being Friday about one of the clock in the afternoon and baptised on Saturday the 18th of September and Mary his mother was buried the same day 1641."

Hi Elizabeth tackaberry putz wood  born 1836 was my gg grandmother as her daughter Florence wood bailey was my g grandmother and in 1901 census Elizabeth was living in Dublin with Florence and William bailey my g grandparents and my grandfathers brothers and sister before he was born. I don't know if florence has any other brothers and sisters but did have a half sister who was a nurse (probably Helena putz in England). We have a diary written about ministries of rev fossey tackaberry which was passed down. They were all Methodists. I think Elizabeth died in 1908 and her husband robert died in Stillwater usa and she came back to ireland and married Richard hand wood in Sligo the same year. Florence was born in 1872. I know a good bit of the tackaberry line.

Dear "Drumgavlin"
Please message me on:

*

and will send what has been done to date and which includes much on the family of the Rev. Fossey Tackaberry.
What I have done is to collect everything that is known about the :Tackaberrys" and put it all in the one document.
