Some great developments since last here! :D (My turn to cheer you on now!) ;D

Been sifting through Herne, Hern,Hearne, Hearn, Hurn, Hurne, Hyrne, Hyrn, Hirn, Hirne even Thyrne, Sterne and Ferne!  >:( But no Josephs!  Plenty of Marys though :D

I seem to recall seeing a Philip somewhere along the research road, but could never hook him up to Joseph.

Yes, Charlotte was housekeeper for widowed BiL in 1861.

Also, while most often spelled correctly as GEAL, it would also be spelled as JEAL in a few records.  Again, I've the PR and BT for Westerham on permanent loan at my FHC, so I can get back to them and check this stuff out.  LOTS of GEALs in Westerham through the years.

Still wondering about Emily and Mary Ann ... always assumed they would turn out to be William's or Thomas', but that doesn't seem to be the case.
