Lookup Request for Thames Watermen and Lightermen please.
« on: Monday 25 February 08 00:04 GMT (UK) »
I wonder if anyone has access to CD's or other data to look up CHARLES WOODERSON who may have been a Thames Waterman.  We have come to a dead end.  He was born in either 1809 or 1815 possibly in Carlisle.
If he was a waterman it would probably have been sometime between 1820 and 1832 when he was transported to Australia for life for Street Robbery from the Surrey Assizes.  We would like to know his place and date of birth, parents and any other details if possible please.  There is a small chance that his name or middle name was Robert.  This help would be much appreciated.  Thankyou.  Girtbysea.

Dear Liz
Thanks for replying.  Have had a look at this site but am disinclined to purchase anything before I know the name is actually there.  I think the great great grandfather was a bit of a tricky customer so chances are there's more fiction than fact in the information we have.  Still all leads are welcome and I sincerely thank you.

Best wishes,  Girtbysea
