Hallo Chris,
would it be possible for you to see if you had anything on an Ann Weston, she was alive in 1828 , when her last child was born,( although she might have died as a result of that I dont know)The family moved to Lewes in 1828 and were still there in  the 1851 census. They lived in the High St, husband was a John Weston, in 1851 there was just a daughter at home, Lucy. What I'm trying to do is prove that Johns wife was an Ann!!,
                        many thanks Jean.

Have checked South Malling Lewes Burials with the following results

1866 May   27   Weston   Rose   f   6 years 9 months   6   T.P
1869 April 7   Weston   Kate   f   4 years   4   T.P
1871 June 25   Weston   William George   m   40 years   40   T.P

Checked All Saints, Lewes - there were 19 Westons - but most of them were in the 1700's or early 1800's - so think they were possibly before what you are looking for.

Not able to check St John the Baptist in Southover at the moment.

If they were living in High Street there were two possible churches near to them - St Michaels in the High Street and St Annes without at the end of the High Street (just outside the old castle walls)
Unfortunately I do not have any info from either of these.

Hallo Chris,
thank you for all your efforts, He was a miller  just outside Lewes, I think the windmill might have been called St Anns, so perhaps thatsmany the church I need, however the the children were christened in a NC church, so the baptist records might help.
     many thanks Jean.
Sussex records office is looking good for a holiday next winter!!

Hi Jean

Will keep my eyes peeled for info on that mill / windmill in Lewes

Dont forget when you take that winter break to call round for a cup of tea or dinner one evening; will also meet you in Lewes to take you around a few sites of possible interest whilst you are here
