i am trying to find out some info on my ggrandmother a harriet hampshire i know she was born in 1879 in rochdale and married a walter llyal lumsden in about 1904 but that is all i know i dont know where to look for any brothers and sisters or other relatives of hers all my mother knows is that she owned at one time a lot of property in oldham i dont know when she died or where she is buried any help would be great

There is a Harriet Hampshire birth registered in Rochdale 1879 but the girl seems to die in the following quarter ...

The marriage index shows that your Harriet was Harriet Ann:

If you order the marriage cert it will tell her age and father's name.

thanks for that info it does sound like her we were trying to find out how my ggrandmother got the money she had for her buisinesses because we had heard that she had worked in a cotton mill. the mind bogggles as to how she came to own astreet of houses and a bakery/confectionary shop
