Hello Lorraine,

I found the following in SS Philip & Jacob for 1813-1837 Baptisms

John  s. of Edward and Elizabeth Walker  16 Nov 1828

Samuel s. Edward and Elizabeth Walker 13 Nov 1836 aged 3 wks.

I don't have marriages I'm afraid.  If you google Bristol and Avon FHS they have details of records.

Regards

Me again!

I found these on the IGI

Mary Ann Walker chr. 29 July 1838 Bristol, Gloucester

Eliza Walker chr. 16 Aug 1840 SS Philip & Jacob Bristol

Mary Walker chr. 4 Sep 1842 SS Philip & Jacob Bristol

all to Edward and Elizabeth Walker

This might be Edward

Edward Walker chr. 14 Sep 1778 Tewkesbury Gloucester

also to an Edward and Elizabeth

There are Walkers in Pebworth Gloucester too.

(I found all these by putting Edward Walker and Elizabeth as mother and father and looking for children born to same)

Regards Escargot

Sorry, thinking about it, that might be too early for Edward - might be his father?  Sorry, not very good with the geography of Gloucestershire either, might be miles from Bristol.

Dear Lorraine,

I am glad I was able to help you.  I can look in the 1851 for you if you tell me how  they are listed in 1861 e.g. were they all together or were some of the children working elsewhere.  What occupations if any.  You mention that Edward is always somewhere else - is he the Redruth one?

Morning Lorraine,

I've been puzzling over your family, but I haven't been able to find much.

There is

Mary Ann 10 yrs, house servant at 7 Butchers Row, parish P&J but b. St.James

Thomas 17 yrs, T----man? couldn't make out this, unmarried, Head, b. Bristol at Braggs Lane parish P&J.

I couldn't find Elizabeth, Harriet, Eliza or James.

All I can suggest is to look at FreeBMD and see if you can find marriages for Harriet and Eliza.  I did try to vary the name Walker by using wild cards but nothing seemed to match.  That is not to say that they are not on there somewhere!  There are much more experienced census searchers on Rootschat that might be able to suggest something else.

Don't give up though.  I have been in this situation myself, and someone came to my rescue and I was able to move back a little further, but I am still searching!

Regards Escargot
