No...I'm afraid we don't travel far out of the AF section...

I just stick to what I know!!!

I would have to agree with what has been said thus far....

The Officer In Charge requests permission to dispose...

Now as the British War Medal has a very high content of silver they did have some residual value. There were an awful lot of them destroyed in the 1970s/80s.

There were also some that found themselves to be renamed, or were not even named in the first place.

Some were renamed for soldiers who had lost their own issue.

Some of these renamed and un named have trickled onto the market...

Basically what Liverpool Annie has said....She is quite good at this stuff...she just strays into the other stuff we rivet counters and stitch nazis don't!
One more charge and then be dumb,

May the victors when they come
Find my body near the wall.

Sorry Annie   :(  :-[

I hadn't meant to say we hadn't any experts I just thought that as no RootsChatter had picked up on the posting just maybe Sarah would have more luck with the other site.

Jean

I must say that I don't come into the common room unless I am pointed here by someone  :-[ ( as I was in this instance!)

I have most of my Rootschat time taken up with queries on the Armed Forces board....(just look at the stats on my profile!!!!), so there is little time to potter around the other sites

There are a number of both ex and serving members of the armed forces with a wealth of experience as well as "gifted civvies"   ;)

So PLEASE, any military history stuff, don't hide over here!!! Come and say hello to a really nice bunch of people who can be really helpful!!!

I'll pass his number and stuff to an old friend of mine, who is a trustee (and treasurer I think) of the Lincolnshire's museum...I'm sure he can add something for you..... ;)
