Dorset families

I am interested in the Peaty and Knell families from Cerne Abbas, the Fox family from Minterne Magna and the Minchinton family from various places in Dorset/Somerset. Is anyone else researching?

Yes, I have that already - it is very useful (when the records are complete  ;D). Have found quite a bit of information but sadly not  Isabella Coward in Batcombe   :(

Have you contacted the Dorset Family History Society( www.dorsetfhs.org.uk )to see if they have any members researching your names?

Can you get to Dorchester ?   The Dorset History Centre have parish records etc. that might help you.

Thanks for that, no I can't get to Dorchester - it's way too far!!! I'll have a look at the Dorset fhs though. Hopefully someone will be ble to help me find poor Isabella.

I have on my tree, a John Fox my G/G/Grandfather Bap Mintern Magna 1814
would ther be any connection.

I have John baptised 27 nov 1814 son of Thomas Fox and Mary Batten. John is the brother of my gt gt gt grandfather Henry.

My Fox family came from Minterne Magna.

Dorset Online Parish Clerks is excellent. I found many of my ancestors through this website.
