thanks for that  :D

I'll have to unearth that part of my family quest and see where we I'm at.

Thank you for replying and for the message to notify me - very much appreciated!

Hi Suelkin,

I've only just read your replies and was pleased to see your reference to one of the sons of Anna being killed in a riot in Europe. It was actually in Rome and George is buried in the Protestant Cemetery in Rome. There are newspaper reports available and also EWWG Houeseal's obituary for his brother.

Hi Sue

Sorry about the delay in replying to you, somehow I missed your reply

I did have copies but they are on the hard drive of a slightly dead computer. I know I got them from British newspapers on line and I will try and get them again.

Can I ask what your connection to the Houseals is?

Thanks

Hilary

Anna Maria Boote was the sister of my great.......grandfather William Rowland Boote.  Their father was Reverend Daniel Boote.

Up for auction was a letter from Rev Daniel Boote to William Henry Cavendish Bentinck, 3rd Duke of Portland

29.6.1772                   Letter from Rev. Daniel Boote, Portman Street,  Portman Square, London, to [W.H.C. Cavendish-Bentinck] 3rd Duke of Portland; 29 June 1772, Discusses arrangements for the ownership and patronage of the chapel [presumably at Lisson Grove], mentioning Mr Bliss's involvement. 2 ff

17.6.1772                   Letter from Mr Thomas Bliss to [W.H.C.  Cavendish-Bentinck] 3rd Duke of Portland; 17 June 1772
Refers to Rev. Harley's informing the duke of a new church at Lisson Green 'which it was worthy Your Grace's Purchasing'; expresses the wish for the duke to own it rather than 'that it should fall  into the hands of Dissenters, who have already made application to me on that head and offered very  advantageous terms'.

I had Daniel Boote's wife as Ann Brown but I have no dates for either Daniel or Ann.

Cheers,
