Kate and John

Here are the details you asked for
Marriage at M/c Cathedral on 4/6/1835

John Barlow Jnr, bachelor of this parish and township of Ardwick, gentleman and Alice Turner spinster of Cheetham were married by licence.
Both signed the register.
Witnesses Mary Barlow, Richard Doncaster ?Harriet  ?arder, John Barlow, Ann Barlow and Thomas Warner.

I have never seen a marriage with so many witnesses before and am not certain that Richard's name was Doncaster but that is what it looked like, likewise harriet's surname, couldn't make out what the first letter was.
Unfortunately, no fathers name was given in early registers but it does show where both parties lived. Hope it is of some help.

 Unsworth & Chantler.
Found nothing on the date you gave me but found it on 24/11/1844.

James Unsworth - full age - bachelor - joiner - 20 Portland St - father James - wheelwright
Elizabeth Chantler - full age - spinster - 16 Booth St, Chorlton on Medlock - father Thomas - miller
James was literate/Elizabeth was not.
Witnesses George heap and John Howgate who were both literate.

Hope this helps you both a little.

Kate
It does give her father's name and occupation, it was Thomas and he was a miller. I think you were so excited you missed it.

yes was a bit excited :), iwas  wandering if you would mind doing a few more lookups next time you go ?

i'm trying to find elizabeth's brothers john and james,
i have found a couple of marriages that could be them,

James chantler to Alice Jackson 1 august, 1847 at manchester cath.,

John Dale Chantler to sarah marsden 10 march 1847
john Chantler  to mary spencer 24 dec, 1848.

I think john may of died fairly young possibly had two children before dying.

I have a marriage certifcate of a thomas chantler witnesses are james chantler and alice chantler.
I hope this wouldn't be a bother to you i would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks kate lloyd
