This probably should not be on this list but I seem to remember I did a look up in M/c and someone said if I needed any in Liverpool they could do this for me.... problem is I can't remember who as I did so many look ups at the time.

I would like details of a marriage in St Nicholas Church, Liverpool on 8 December 1856 between Stephen Bailey and Jane Turner.
Also baptism of Arthur Bailey on 27/3/1859 at Saint Peter, Liverpool, Lancashire, England. Need to confirm this is their son as he was actually born in Salford. Long way to go for a baptism but as Jane was from Liverpool I am hoping this is the right one.
Many thanks

Hi.  Re Catholics marrying in Manchester cathedral.  Two of my ancestors also married in Manchester Cathedral, one of them on Christmas day, in fact.   Apparently it was quite common in those days.

Hi Audrey
Can you please do a lookup when you are next at Manchester Cathedral?
I have a John Broadhead who married Ellen Moston on 24 December 1846 at Manchester Cathedral.I have the Marriage Certificate which states he lived in Gt. Ancoats St and was a farmer. It also states that John's father was  called John Broadhead too.I don't know what his age was when he married.
I would like to know when, where, and to whom he was born.
My guess is that it would be about 1820.
Can you help me?
Thanks
Leatham

I would gladly look up a baptism for you but I need the date and the name of the church.
The info you are requesting would be available on John's birth certificate which can be obtained by applying at local register office.
Hope this helps.

Hi Audrey
I don't have a birth date, so I can't apply for a Birth Certificate. That is what I'm trying to find out. I think he was probably baptised in Manchester Cathedral as all later births and marriages were held there by the family.
If he was married in 1846 I would estimate that he was born around 1820 approximately or up to 1828.
Hope this is of some help. Do you have any other suggestions as to how I can find out when he was born or where to look?
Regards
Leatham

Hi
You wouldn't be able to get a birth certificate, I just realised when he was born it was before 1837 when civil registration began here.
The only entry on IGI for a John has father called Hugh so it doesn't look like he was baptised in Cathedral as this is included in IGI.
Without the date and church it is virtually impossible to find. I am sorry not to be able to help more.

Hello Audrey:

Could I impose upon you to look up the marriage record of John Barlow to Alice Turner that occurred on June 4, 1835 at Manchester Cathedral.
