Hi Aud,
Sorry I haven't been in touch before now to say "Thank You" for the Duxbury details, I've had a few problems with the internet cutting off every few minutes.
If you could possibly copy the marriage certificate, I would be so grateful, and will reimburse you, either by cheque or by sending you postage stamps if you prefer.
I know that Thomas Duxbury was a solicitor by profession and I think that he had possibly died by the time William was baptised, hence the details in the "Profession" column. I have searched for Thomas's death between 1810 and 1813 for a few months but haven't found anything yet, although I think he may have had a funeral service at Manchester Cathedral.
I think that A. Horney could have been either the solicitors firm that Thomas worked for or the person who had some connection with the burial of Thomas.
I think I'll put a message asking if someone has access to the Manchester Gores Directory to see if anything turns up.
Once again, thanks for all your help.
Regards,
Viv.

 :) :) :)

As lots of my relatives used Manchester Cathedral, I thought you might like to see a photo of it (if you haven't done so already)

I have got your certificate for Dolan/ Merner but it is printed on A3 paper which is too big for my scanner.
I will have to scan both ends and hope you can put it together at your end. I will try to get it to your email address later today.

I thought I knew which ones I wanted but whn I looked at the 4 or 5 I did last week I didn't. I have copied the Sweeney and Corcoran one by mistake so if you would like a copy let me have your e mail address.

Do not despair descendants of George Wilson and Thomas Duxbury will get yours next time.
I have written down the ones I want so I won't get there without knowing which ones again.

Hi Aud,
I see you have been inunndated with requests about Manchester Cathedral! I hate to add to it but I wondered if next time you go you could look up one for me? I am originanlly an Oldham girl now living in Australia which means I rely on the internet and the kindess of others for info. The marriage I am looking for is my GGgrandparents: Catherine Ryan to Thomas Taylor, 28th Aug. 1867/8. His name was actually George Thomas but everything else fits in. I don't know their father's names, so any info. would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Wendy
